MEET OUR OFFICE MANAGER

Hello! I’m Buddhika Jayawardena,
Operational Executive at Attunigrate, the home of integrative therapy in Detroit, Michigan. Originally from Sri Lanka, I bring a global perspective, warmth, and practical know-how to every step of your therapeutic experience.

My career spans hospitality, event management, and legal process outsourcing, where I built customer-support systems and staff-training programs. During the pandemic, I pivoted into insurance billing and collections for a leading U.S. laboratory client -- experience that now helps Attunigrate streamline claims with most major insurance plans and simplify private-pay options.

Today, I’m honored to apply that expertise to Attunigrate’s integrative therapy services across Michigan and beyond. My mission is to make your journey toward healing seamless, transparent, and fully supported. Let’s embark on this path together -- ensuring your focus remains on growth, self-discovery, and well-being.

Therapy can bring powerful relief, insight, and resilience. However, growth sometimes stirs tough emotions, memories, or thoughts. Our clinicians provide steady, evidence-based support so you can navigate any discomfort safely and move toward lasting healing, balance, and peace.

Feeling overwhelmed often comes from being mentally “on” all the time, managing expectations, thinking ahead, and carrying emotional weight without enough space to reset.

Overthinking is often your mind trying to create certainty and control. Instead, it keeps you stuck in loops that increase stress and make it harder to feel calm.

High-functioning anxiety isn’t a formal diagnosis, but it describes people who appear capable and composed while internally experiencing constant pressure and worry.

Yes, often more intensely. High-functioning individuals tend to push through early signs, which can lead to deeper exhaustion over time.

Your first session is a space to talk about what’s been going on and what support could look like for you. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out.

Many clients start with weekly sessions to build consistency. From there, frequency can be adjusted based on your needs.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, therapy can help you better understand what’s going on and find ways to move forward.

Yes. Therapy provides a safe space to understand the root causes of disordered eating, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and rebuild a positive relationship with food and your body. Our specialist works with you to create a sustainable path toward recovery.

Absolutely. Athletes often face unique pressures, from performance anxiety and injury recovery to identity shifts outside of sports. Therapy helps you manage the mental side of the game, build resilience, and maintain a healthy balance between your sport and your life.

It is an approach that recognizes and respects the different backgrounds, cultures, and lived experiences of every client. We consider how your unique identity, including race, ethnicity, religion, and social context, impacts your mental health and your journey through healing.

We value your privacy above all else. We do not use AI to record, listen to, or participate in your sessions. We occasionally use AI as a tool to assist with administrative note-writing, but your actual therapeutic space remains 100% human-to-human.
